The Honda Civic Type R has had one of the best run of cars ever made. Starting with the EK9 generation and still going strong to this day with the FL5 generation even if a new one will set you back £50,000 minimum which is mildly absurd they are all held in high regard. Now the FN2 is by far the most underrated of them all which is why they are still affordable even when a mint EK9/EP3 requires at least one functional kidney maybe two if its in championship white but bang for your buck nothing quite hits like the FN2. Boasting one of the literal best engines ever made the K20Z4 is highly reliable as long as they are well maintained. It features Hondas iconic VTEC which changes what feels like your nans Honda Jazz she takes to bingo every Wednesday evening into a screaming 200HP hot hatch with the VTEC change over being some of the best engine noise money can buy.

What makes our FN2 extra special is that it has boat loads of history with a total of 13 services all in all with the most recent being done by us for peace of mind. Due to these cars becoming affordable many have been subjected to neglect and abuse or in a ditch somewhere down your local back road which thankfully ours hasn't as its been meticulously maintained and looked after. These cars being red often suffer with lacquer peel but ours has already been painted due to such lacquer peel which means it looks very vibrant despite being nearly two decades old. The roof is the only drawback as there is some lacquer peel at the front but otherwise its pretty impressive. Its had both headlights restored as well as no one wants to buy a new car with cloudy headlights. The underneath is about what you would expect for age and mileage with surface rust however everything is still solid but if you plan on driving during the winter I would highly recommend an ice blast and underseal which would preserve the car for many more winters to come.
